Vince Vaughn Indicates He Wants “Gay” Joke to Stay in ‘The Dilemma’ Movie
(HMG Celebrity News) – Under pressure from GLAAD, and an outraged Anderson Cooper who complained he “was shocked not only that they put it in the movie, but that they put that in the preview,” Universal Pictures pulled a “gay” joke out of the trailer for the Ron Howard directed comedy The Dilemma. The original trailer featured Vince Vaughn saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, electric cars … are gay.” While Universal Studios has yet to announce if it will pull the joke from the film when it hits theaters January 14, Vaughn hopes it will make the final cut. He has just issued a statement about the removal of the gay joke from the trailer indicating he’d like the joke to stay:
Let me add my voice of support to the people outraged by the bullying and persecution of people for their differences, whatever those differences may be. Comedy and joking about our differences breaks tension and brings us together. Drawing dividing lines over what we can and cannot joke about does exactly that; it divides us. Most importantly, where does it stop.

Vince Vaughn is correct. The last thing we need is more politically correct buffoonery. Don’t change a thing, Vince! If you do they’ll be demanding that the humorless Anderson Cooper or one of his handmaidens approve every written word and ad lib, in your future projects. You’d think Cooper would be asking YOU for advice, in light of his ratings. Geez.
