Sally Menke(HMG Celebrity News) – Sally Menke, the film editor for Quentin Tarantino’s many hit Hollywood movies, was found dead Tuesday of what appears to have been natural causes due to hiking in extreme heat.

The triple digit temperatures the last few days in L.A. have been a major news story, as they come during the beginning of fall when you would expect to see the heat waves of California give way to milder weather for the duration of the year. Deaths have been expected to rise, as they always do when the heat is cranked up. There was no significant rise in this wave, but Menke was sadly one of a few.

According to reports by the LA Times, she was out hiking with her friend and Labrador Retriever in  Bronson Canyon under the Hollywood sign. An hour in, her friend decided to turn back but Menke wanted  to go on for a short time.

When she didn’t show up by 4 P.M. friends and relatives contacted police and reported her missing, prompting a search of the canyon. Her body was found collapsed in a ravine, her dog sitting beside her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She is survived by her husband Dean Parisot and her two children, Lucas and Isabella.
