Rachel Zoe and her assistant Brad Goreski[HMG Celebrity News] – If you’re a fan of Bravo’s fashionista magnet, ‘The Rachel Zoe Project’ you’ll have heard that Rachel and her assistant Brad Goreski have parted ways. And why this happened depends on who you believe.

In an interview appearing in Friday’s issue of People, Brad was all smiles;

“I love Rachel and she’s taught me everything I know,” the 33-year old tells the scribes. “But there’s a point where either I do it now or I’ll never know what it’s like to spread my wings.”

So about a month ago, Brad told Rachel he wanted out, and she claims it was ‘major.’

“We couldn’t stop hugging and we couldn’t stop crying,” said 39-year old Rachel, who counts Demi Moore, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and Anne Hathaway among her clientèle. “I just told him, ‘I’m here for you always.’”

But insiders say that’s both BS and managed PR. The real split was ugly and left Rachel with scars.

“Brad was sick of doing all the work while Rachel got all the credit,” an insider tells PopEater. “Now Rachel feels used by Brad. She feels like she taught him everything and the second he got a chance to leave her, he did.”

Rumors that the pair were in trouble began during New York Fashion Week, where Brad seemed to be at more events than his boss.

“Fashion week was definitely the turning point,” a friend dishes. “Brad was on the front row at every show and getting invited to at least as many events as she was.”

But when Brad appeared on the cover of the New York Times’ style section, Rachel went postal.

“She hit the roof and reminded him he was her assistant, and it was called ‘The Rachel Zoe Show’ not the Brad Goreski show. That was when the two of them were over,” says the source.

But this is not the first time Rachel lost an accomplice — The current season of her show covers the departure of long-time assistant Taylor Jacobson. His replacement, Ashley Avignone is then introduced with some fanfare — and he also quit.

And just to rub salt on the wounds, Brad is now in talks about starting his own reality show — with no input from Zoe.

We’ll keep you advised how this all plays out…
