417px-StephenfrynightingaleGuy Ritchie has announced a December 2011 date for the release of the unnamed sequel to his blockbuster hit Sherlock Holmes. Now, we are getting a few more details, such as the awesome casting choices to play some of the roles within.

Stephen Fry is the latest to confirm that he will be playing in the second film, in the role of Sherlock’s brother Mycroft. Those who have read the original stories will remember him as the smarter older brother who is unimpressed with his younger siblings choice to run around solving crimes.

Another character will be played by Noomi Rapace, though it isn’t clear who it is she will be. You may recall her for her brilliant acting in the first two movies based on the popular book series by Stieg Larsson: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire.

I think these are some awesome casting choices. Both are magnificent actors, and will add to an already great cast for the adventure epic.
