Inception star, Tom Hardy announces engagement to Charlotte Riley

[HMG Celebrity News] – In a piece of good news that might brighten your Friday, Inception star Tom Hardy has announced his engagement to fellow British thespian Charlotte Riley.

The pair met while shooting a British TV adaptation of the classic novel, Wuthering Heights, in which Tom was Heathcliff opposite Charlotte as Cathy. They plan to marry next year, but the 28-year old bride-to-be wants to do more than swap vows and cut a cake.

She is also the lead singer in a rock band and wants them to be the chief entertainment at their reception.

“Yes, we are engaged,” Charlotte told Britain’s ‘Sunday Express’ newspaper. “We just got on well right from the start, to be honest, and had an immediate understanding of each other.”

The couple were dating for a year and got engaged a few weeks ago. But not being the Hollywood type they didn’t have squadrons of publicists to shout it from the roof-tops, so the story’s only just leaked out.

And 33-year old Tom has quite a record in romance – In 1999 he married another British actress, Sarah Ward, and he has a son, Louis, with ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed.

For those who loved him in ‘Inception’ with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom’s next big role is as the title character in the reboot of Mel Gibson’s 1979 low-budget classic, “Mad Max.”
