Lindsay Lohan drunk as she tweeted remorse, says insider

[HMG Celebrity News] – Facing a new spell in jail for failing her drug test, Lindsay Lohan sent a tweet to her fans that sounded almost remorseful.

“This was certainly a setback for me but I’m taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences,” she told her 1.2-million followers at 9.47pm Friday night.

But an insider was sitting nearby as Lohan typed the note on her phone at Magnolia, a restaurant popular among Hollywood types that sits on Sunset Boulevard. And the spy says Lohan was laughing and drinking as she worked on the tweet.

Her assistant and a male friend even advised her how to make it look ‘more personal,’ for extra effect.

“Her friend would say, ‘No, use ‘setback,’ don’t say mistake. They’ll say you make mistakes all the time!” the spy recalls. “Then the friend said, ‘It’s better to say you’re responsible. Denying it will just get everyone mad, as per usual.’”

Lohan laughed at that idea, then got her assistant to order her another Jack and Coke as they completed the mini mea-culpa.

Once completed the message was sent to her managers — Lou Taylor and Larry Rudolph, the same guys who helped Britney Spears survive her famous meltdown. And Lohan wasn’t even emotional — Despite having done rehab four times she joked about drinking scotch while composing an apology for not staying clean.

“What are you gonna do? I’m “ill”‘ she told those in attendance, making ‘air quotes’ with her fingers.

That’s a given. But just how sad is your life when it takes three separate minds to write a 140 character message?

And it seems LiLo is far from alone in believing no harm will come from failing her test. Us Weekly says Momma Lohan told guests at her 48th birthday party at New York’s Madeo’s Restaurant on September 17 that her daughter would ‘get off scot-free.’

“She said, ‘Who cares if it’s true? Our new legal team is like a machine. They’ll squash this.’”
