Celebrity Apprentice victor, Bret Michaels facing open-heart surgery
[HMG Celebrity News] – Having survived a brain hemorrhage with a degree of success that amazed even his doctors, Poison front-man Bret Michaels is now facing a new hurdle in life — Heart surgery.
Currently wowing the fans on his ‘Roses and Thorns’ solo tour the 47-year old singer is due to undergo surgery in January to repair a hole in his heart he’s had since childhood, and never knew about.
Bret suffered the hemorrhage in April and is almost back to normal, but he’s still got some way to go;
“He’s in good spirits, he’s having fun on the road, he loves his fans and has always said music heals him,” a rep for the rocker told Radar. “There are times when he worries, but he has great people around him and he’s very cautious.”
The rep also says being back on the road has been “good for his soul”.
“Sometimes he gets a headache, and that’s when he’ll rest,” they told the reporters. “He’ll have the surgery, hopefully take a family vacation, then get back on the road touring and promoting his upcoming book.”
Bret’s last appearance was on Donald Trump’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ in April. He won the prize of $250,000, which he then donated to his chosen charity – the American Diabetes Association.
Why the Diabetes guysd, you may ask? Because on top of a brain hemorrhage and a hole in the heart, Bret has had Type-1 diabetes since he was six. And does he complain to the press? Not a word.
…Whatta guy.
We’ll update you when Bret checks in for the procedure…
