Scientology behind Elisabeth Moss divorce with Fred Arimsen?

(HMG Celebrity News) – Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss petitioned a Los Angeles court on Monday, to officially end her 10 month marriage to Saturday Night Live  funnyman Fred Armisen. Citing the standard irreconcilable differences, Elisabeth claims that pair originally separated on June 26.

Moss and Armisen married on October 25, 2009, a year after meeting each other when Jon Hamm hosted SNL.

Moss — who plays Peggy on the popular AMC series — is a devout Scientologist and insiders tell Us Weekly that Elisabeth’s religion may have been a factor in the split.

“Her religion was as important to her as their marriage, if not more,” one insider told Us. “[Armisen] could not get with it.”

Conflicting work schedules and long-distance relationship were originally floated out as the reason behind the split.

Armisen meanwhile is already dating Abby Elliott, his 23-year-old SNL co-star, and daughter of series alum Chris Elliott.
