Outlaw Couple Randy and Evi Quaid in Trouble Again

(HMG) – Kooky couple, Randy and Evi Quaid, are back in trouble again. It seems like these two are quite reluctant or just can’t afford to pay for their living expenses.  This time they are facing burglary charges in California after the owner of the couple’s old house reported they had been living there without permission.  When confronted by police the Quaids, apparently insisted they had owned the property since the 1990s, but documentation was provided that the current owner had purchased the property in 2007 from a man who had bought it from the Quaids several years earlier.  Quaid, 59, and Evi Quaid, 47, were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on Saturday night on charges of felony residential burglary and misdemeanor entering a noncommercial building without consent.  Quaid was arrested without incident, but Evi Quaid, physically resisted arrest, and is also charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest.

The two were on the lam for months last year for a $10,000 tab at Santa Barbara’s upscale ‘San Ysidro Ranch,’ after their credit card was declined. They assured management a new card was en-route and were allowed to continue their stay. But the card never arrived, and they took off a week later without clearing the bill. Quaid’s wife Evi, eventually took the slap on the hand, and is on probation for three years after she pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of defrauding an innkeeper. Prosecutors had a strong circumstantial case against Randy Quaid, but his wife was more involved with the transactions in question so charges were dropped against the actor.   The house they were arrested on Saturday is about a mile away from the San Ysidro Ranch.
