Paris Hilton[HMG Celebrity News] – In another example of how fame — however unearned — can bring special treatment, Police in Las Vegas now admit they gave some to Paris Hilton during her recent booking for possessing cocaine.

Las Vegas police have admitted that after her arrest on August 27, Hilton’s booking procedure was 5-21 hours shorter than that of anyone else booked on the same charge. She was in and out of the Clark County Detention Center in three hours.

The 29-year old heir-head was arrested with her boyfriend, Las Vegas nightclub manager Cy Waits, when police stopped the SUV he was driving and smelled marijuana smoke inside the vehicle.

Scores of onlookers gathered during the search of the black Escalade, and Police said they worried a similar frenzy would happen if Hilton remained in the jail.

“Yeah, she was treated differently so I didn’t have a disruption of my process,” Las Vegas Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon told People. “When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes and tries to look at them. I’d have disruptions.”

And her stay at the Center involved a game of musical rooms; She was moved several times, including a stay in a room known as ‘the drunk tank,’ and even in one Sergeant’s office.

“She was moved out of the general area and put in isolation where nobody can get to her,” says Chief Dixon. “To put Hilton in an open area with male and female inmates would shut down my process.”

Police also returned the purse that contained the cocaine — And they say her whiny claims that it wasn’t hers make no difference;

“We took the narcotics but gave her the purse,” Officer Barbara Morgan told reporters. “It doesn’t matter if she says the purse is not hers, it was in her possession. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found narcotics in people’s pants, and they say the pants aren’t theirs.”

Hilton was later released on her own recognizance because she had no outstanding warrants and is not considered a flight risk. She’s now due in court on October 27 to face charges for the cocaine possession…
