‘Real Houswives’ star, Teresa Giudice accused of bankruptcy fraud

Teresa Giudice[HMG Celebrity News] – Already over her head in apparently inescapable debt, ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ cast member Teresa Giudice is now being accused of hiding more than $250,000 in assets, while claiming bankruptcy.

Roberta DeAngelis, the US Trustee in charge of the petition filed by Teresa, 38, and her husband Joe has filed a ‘Complaint Objecting to Discharge,’ requiring the Judge in the case — Morris Stern – to refuse Teresa’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy request because of countless ‘falsehoods’ and omissions in the pair’s court paperwork.

DeAngelis accuses the couple of filing statements they knew were false, making numerous false oaths and fake testimony, and not disclosing several assets of significant value.

For example, Teresa signed a contract for her book “Skinny Italian” one week before filing the bankruptcy papers – but didn’t include the $250,000 advance she received on the court’s forms.

Teresa later admitted she got the cash, but claimed her lawyers ‘forgot’ to update the court records.

But the Trustee’s complaint lists other items she also ‘forgot’, such as her husband’s bank account, their vehicles, two homes, an online boutique called ‘TG Fabulicious,’ and a company called ’1601 Maple Avenue Associates,’ which Roberta discovered Joe secretly owned.

Roberta also accuses the pair of presenting false tax returns to the court to make them look broke.

Radar reports that court documents also prove Giudice — who is facing over $11-million in debts from failed Real Estate schemes – spent $60,000 on furniture and other luxury items – just three days after she and Joe claimed they were bankrupt.

A good income would help, but last week she and other members of the ‘Houswives’ refused to begin shooting season three unless their contracts were renegotiated. Reports say Giudice wants double her salary, plus profits from the show’s DVD and merchandise sales.

All this would make for fascinating TV — if Teresa could be bothered to work. But once the case is resolved something tells me the bosses at Bravo will find a way to exploit it. Meanwhile, what’s your take on this tale?…
