Gary Busey hailed as hero after Malibu crash
[HMG] – In a rare and welcome example of a Hollywood actor acknowledging the existence of others, Gary Busey is being hailed as a hero after helping save a man’s life in car crash this week.
It seems the 66-year old Oscar-nominated actor was driving on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on Tuesday afternoon when he witnessed a two-car collision.
Sources say Gary immediately called 911, then crossed through traffic to reach the scene of the crash, where he directed passing vehicles to slow down and assisted one of the victims until paramedics arrived.
The mother of one victim told TMZ the actor was “very sweet and caring,” and she wanted to thank him for his help.
And if you have a crash, Gary’s the man you want on the scene – On December 4, 1988, he was almost killed in a motorcycle accident. His skull was fractured due to not wearing a helmet and Doctors were convinced he’d suffered permanent brain damage.
But an update from doctors on this week’s collision says the 21-year old man’s injuries are mostly minor, and apart from minor back pain he’s now doing fine.
