Kate Gosselin gets rival in new TLC sextuplet show

TLC
[HMG] – In an continuing quest to transform their channel into a televisual clown car, TLC has announced the debut of yet another show about mommas with multiple kids. Hard on the heels of Kate Gosselin comes “Sextuplets Take New York.”
The new show — slated to debut on September 14 — stars Victor and Digna Carpio, who are currently raising four sons and two daughters in the modest suburb of Queens. The babies are only the second group of sextuplets born in New York, and may be the first Hispanic sextuplets in the nation’s history.
“We fell in love with them,” Nancy Daniels, TLC’s Senior VP of Production tells THR. “All our shows look at interesting families and interesting lives, and they’re taking care of a lot of small children who are all the same age and overrunning their house.”
The show will follow the daily challenge of raising six babies. And the problems are endless; Born in October of 2008 the six offspring -Â Genesis, Joel, Justin, Jezreel, Jayden and Danelia — need a total of 50 diaper changes a day, and create a monthly electric bill of around $5,000.
Before starting the show, 35-year old Victor made just $1,800 a month as a maintenance worker.
Two nurses help the Carpios take care of their brood, but once they leave at 6pm Digna and Victor must face the battle alone. And even with the help of their 8-year old son, Jhan Carlos, Digna admits sleep can become a rare treat.
“I don’t want to get overwhelmed,” Digna explains. “Sometimes I feel I’m going to go crazy, then I look at them. It’s the best feeling. It’s the best gift for a mother.”
The new show starts in two weeks, and joins TLC’s other sideshow spectaculars; “19 Kids and Counting” and the recently unveiled “Quints by Surprise.” The channel is also preparing a show on polygamy to be called ‘Sister Wives.’
Hands up if you’ll watch the show?…
