[HMG] – In a week of good news and bad for Jennifer Aniston that should bring her even more public attention than she usually craves she discussed bad dates with Jon Stewart, and landed herself in a new pile of trouble playing Barbara Streisand.

The 41-year old actress was a guest on Jon’s Thursday night show, and as you’ll see in the Huff Post clip he wasted no time in recalling a romantic date they both shared in the mid-1990′s — just him and Jennifer…and half of Manhattan.

“You brought so many of your friends, I remember thinking ‘She’s so excited to be on a date with me, she wants me to get to know her posse’” Stewart chides at one point. Jennifer, of course, claims it was an honest mistake.

So that now leaves three people in the Hollywood crowd whom Jen hasn’t dated. And after her discussion with Regis, her choices may become even scarcer.

Jennifer was a guest on ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ yesterday and the trio were discussing her appearance as Barbara Streisand on the cover of next month’s Harper’s Bazaar,

“You’re playing dress up!” Regis told her with a grin. “Yes, I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!” was her reply. And that’s got some folks really steamed;

“Someone in her position ought to know better,” says Peter Berns, CEO of ‘The Arc,’ a non-profit that helps those with developmental disabilities. “There are over 5-million people in this country with intellectual disabilities, and when you add their family and friends you’re talking about tens of millions of people who find the term really offensive.”

But Jen’s far from alone – Other celebrities such as Howard Stern and Lindsay Lohan have shown the same lack of taste by using  the word.

“People with intellectual disabilities have fought their whole lives for recognition and when people continue to use this word, it’s hurtful to them,” Kirsten Seckler, a spokeswoman for the Special Olympics, tells Us. “Think before you speak. Especially when you’re making fun of yourself or others.”

There’s been no comment or retraction from Jennifer yet. She’s probably too busy counting all the attention. Meantime, what’s your view of this news?…
