Ryan Reynolds and Scarlet Johannson buy $2-million home

[HMG] – While the rest of the country battles recession, life in Hollywood seems to continue unscathed — And Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johannson are strong proof of this. They just bought a new $2.8-million house.

According to reports from Us, the pair just closed on a 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom home in a quiet L.A. suburb that boasts “Chic, mid-century design, a swimming pool and stunning views,” according to the Realtor’s blurb.

It was previously listed at $3-million, but the two actors got it for $2.8-million – in cash.

Up to now their only shared home was a Manhattan apartment. So could the extra space suggest plans for a family?

“My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time,” Reynolds told reporters in July, with no mention of dates.

And Scarlett is on record as saying she has no plans to get pregnant “Any time soon.”

But children or not, the timing couldn’t be better — the pair will celebrate their two-year wedding anniversary on September 28, by which time they’ll be done moving in and should be ready to party.

The pair’s reps are making no comment on either story, but if Scarlett starts craving fried crayfish in Jello we’ll let you know…
