Did Ex-JetBlue Flight Attendant Slater Make Up ‘Bad Passenger’ Story?

(HMG) – I was thinking the ‘bad passenger’ in the Jet Blue incident, which caused the flight attendant Steven Slater, to freak out and slide down an escape ramp, was staying quiet because he/she was embarrassed about what they had done to provoke the incident, but there might be another explanation. Investigators looking into Slater’s outburst are now seriously questioning his story regarding his confrontation with the so-called unruly passenger. While Slater claims that he was hit in the head with luggage or an overhead door bin while helping the passenger in question, so far, none of the flight’s passengers have confirmed the incident (everyone else was sitting and nobody saw it), and officials say Slater may have gotten a gash on his forehead before he boarded the flight. On the contrary, passengers on the JetBlue flight from which the attendant disembarked at JFK Airport on Monday said Slater started the fracas onboard: When another passenger asked where her baggage was located, Slater spat out an expletive, according to one passenger. “It really blew my mind,” she said. “It was so inappropriate.” Other passengers felt similarly. “I felt so uncomfortable on that flight,” said one. “There’s certainly a decent amount of doubt at this point,” a Port Authority official told the Wall Street Journal.
