Rihanna shares on Eminem song, Katy Perry and new movie role
[HMG] – Rihan
played a concert at L.A’s Staples Center last Wednesday, and the crowd got a surprise when no less than Eminem joined her on stage to perform their duet, “Love The Way You Lie,” which deals with domestic abuse.
After the well-publicized events with Chris Brown in February last year some might question her choice of a song on this subject, but the 22-year old singer has no doubts;
“It’s something we’ve both experienced, on different sides,” she told Access. “He broke down the cycle of domestic violence and it’s something most people don’t have a lot of insight into. It was believable for us to do a record like that. It also needed to be done.”
The track includes lines such as;
“I laid hands on her / I’ll never stoop so low again / I guess I don’t know my own strength,” and later “If she ever tries to leave again / I’m gonna tie her to the bed and set the house on fire.”
And Rihanna adds lyrics like; “Just gonna stand there and watch me burn / But that’s alright, because I like the way it hurts.”
The reporters then asked how she chose such an emotional theme?
“I knew if he sent me a record there must be something to it,” she explains. “It couldn’t just be, ‘Oh, Duh! She was in that relationship so we have to get her.’
Away from the stage Rihanna has other work on her mind — she’s been tapped to plan Katy Perry’s bachelorette party, and it’s proving to be a tough climb:
“It’s taking up more time than my tour!” she revealed, laughing. “Her wedding is probably going to be the best I’ve ever attended, and now I have to match the bachelorette party to that.”
But Katy’s plans for her wedding attire are providing ideas;
“I could have balloons and Disney characters and she’ll still make it wild. That’s just Katy. There’s no way round that with her,” the singer then mused.
As if all that weren’t enough, in her spare time the three-time Grammy winner has also signed on to appear in the new game-based movie “Battleship,” with ‘True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Kitsch from “Friday Night Lights.”
