Eva Longoria-Parker To Play Marvel Super Hero “Wasp”?

(HMG) – Desperate Housewives beauty Eva Longoria-Parker is reportedly in negotiations to make her superhero debut as The Wasp in the eagerly-awaited ensemble Marvel Comics blockbuster The Avengers. Other stars who will appear in the first Avengers film include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Rimmer and Mark Ruffalo. Eva has done several screen tests for the role, and film bosses believe she could be the perfect choice to play the “sexy” character. “Marvel is in negotiations with Eva and she is just right for the role,” a source told FOX411.com. “First, she read for the part, then she went into the studio for camera tests. The team liked her for The Wasp so much that she did green screen work in the late spring. She’s perfect in size and attitude. Eva is cute, sexy and full of energy for the part. The character is a bit like Gabby, her character on Desperate Housewives.”

Fox411 claims Canadian-born actor Nathan Fillion is being considered to play Ant-Man — who is married to The Wasp. Film bosses are anticipating great chemistry between Nathan and Eva if they do work together.

“Nathan Fillion, a favorite of Joss Whedon, is set to play Ant-Man,” the source added. “Ant-Man is married to The Wasp in the comics. They would be a dynamic duo – both are hilarious and together they will have great comedy and chemistry. It’s a win-win if Eva can tie up the role.

This isn’t the first time Eca has been rumored to play the Wasp. Back in September of 2008, Eva was photographed leaving the Marvel offices while holding a copy of “The Avengers.
