Daniel Craig(HMG) – James Bond star Daniel Craig has taken on a new mission, to star in the remake for the English-language remake of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,”   Deadline Hollywood reports.

In the thriller directed by David Fincher, based on the first novel in the best-selling series from the late Swedish author Stieg Larsson, Craig is taking on the role of journalist Mikael Blomkvist.

The violent story teams Blomkvist with the title character, Lisbeth Salander (not yet cast), a deeply troubled genius tormented by a terrible childhood, as they delve into the mystery of a missing girl whose disappearance leads them to a string of decades-old murders.

The agreement Craig signed with Sony, reportedly includes options for two sequels — films to be based on the other books in the late Stieg Larsson’s bestselling trilogy, The Girl Who Played With Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets’ Nest. Craig will start filming Dragon Tattoo, right after finishing Cowboys and Aliens in the early fall.
