Amanda Bynes Un-Retires from Acting

[HMG] – ‘What I Like About You’ actress, Amanda Bynes has come out of her self-imposed retirement from acting.  Just a month after tweeting she was done with Hollywood, she tweeted simply, “I’ve unretired.”

Bynes used her Twitter account similarly to announce her retirement in June. “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you’ve heard it here first. I’ve #retired.”  “I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it,” she continued at the time. “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem” and “I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been apart of I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play.”

Since her debut on Nickelodeons ‘All That’ at the age of just eight, the now-24 year old actress has enjoyed some solid success, but like many child actors, Amanda was facing the awkward — and often lethal — transition to work as an adult.

Her rise to fame included her own show on Nickelodeon at the age of 13. Then came “What I Like About You,” which won her more fans. Her first movie, the 2002 comedy “Big Fat Liar,” with Frankie Muniz, also did well, and her role as Penny Pingleton in the 2007 remake of ‘Hairspray’ won good reviews.

But since then Amanda’s career has been rocky with rumors that Hollywood producers have become reluctant to book her. Between that and her oversharing tweets, her agency, CAA allegedly  tried to stop her self-destructive behavior, but got nowhere and after apparently getting fired from the upcoming movie “Hall Pass,” that sent her over the edge.  Now she is back, but has anything changed?
