James Franco to pursue Ph.D. and teach at Yale
(HMG) – Actor James Franco has never shied away from taking on ‘out of the box roles’ in his young career. But this time he is going to enter a different stage of sorts, joining the noble profession of teaching. Franco, who has worked as an actor, film director, screenwriter, film producer, and painter, may soon go by “Dr. James Franco”. Franco appeared on Good Morning America this weekend, spoke about his academic plans to go to Yale in September to obtain his doctorate in English and film studies. In addition to continuing his perpetual education, James Franco will also teach.
“I am going to teach at Yale,” he told Bianna Golodryga. “It’s in the works. I have a very special class I will be teaching next January.”
Franco, who has previously studied filmmaking at New York University and earned a master of fine arts diploma from Columbia, didn’t reveal what subject he will be teaching.
