Mariska Hargitay and Joy Behar in antique affray

[HMG] – In news somewhat lighter than we’re often called to report it seems ‘Law and Order: SVU’ star, Mariska Hargitay and ‘The View’s senior seat-warmer, Joy Behar came close to blows over an antique.

Or as Joy was involved, perhaps I should say another antique.

The two stars were browsing the furniture aisle at the ‘Mulford Farm’ antiques fair in East Hampton last weekend, and both became rather fond of a large, hand-carved mirror.

A tense discussion ensued, but Joy, 67, finally relented and allowed her much younger rival to buy the $1,600 piece.

“Well, she carries a gun on TV. I’m physically afraid of her,” Behar told the Post.

But Joy has some compensation  – She’s now being courted as a potential successor to CNN’s Larry King. The ratings for her ‘Headline News’ show have risen 38% in a year, while Larry’s have crumbled. If she takes the job she could buy the whole fair…
