DWTS star, Erin Andrews reboots career at ESPN
[HMG] – After gaining fans and attention on last season’s ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ ESPN host, Erin Andrews is now joining an expanded version of the station’s football show, “College Game Day.”
Erin, 32, will host a segment alone, and also serve as a sidelines reporter when the hugely popular show returns for its 24th season. And Erin says the bigger ego trip job was her motive to stay;
“The biggest reason I wanted to stay was because they’d expand my role,” she told Yahoo-TV. “It’s time for me to try new things. The hosting stuff is what I’m really looking forward to.”
Apart from her ESPN work, Erin will also be covering ‘fun and light-hearted’ stories for “Good Morning, America.”
And career prospects are improving for other DWTS cast members as well;
Season 10 winner Nicole Scherzinger is currently subbing for a pregnant Dannii Minogue on the hit British show, “X Factor.” And sources say this could even become a permanent gig when the US version debuts next year.
As for last season’s ‘light relief’ — Kate Gosselin is now putting her two left feet to good use, preparing for yet another TLC reality show – “Twist of Kate,” which debuts this fall. This time the 35-year old multiple mommy will visit women who were inspired by her story.
“I just want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can,” Gosselin told the press.
But Evan Lysacek, who took second-place in DWTS’ last season may not be ‘out there’ at all — The 25-year old gold-medal winner has yet to announce if he’ll skate in the upcoming season, and he ducked the Grand Prix altogether – a move some fans say proves he may be planning to quit skating completely.
But one DWTS alumnus who is clearly loving the limelight is Chad ‘Ocho Cinco’ Johnson. The Cincinnati Bengals’ wide receiver, who came fourth on the show, now has his own love-fest on VH1 – ‘Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch.’
Sunday’s premiere saw the 32-year star sorting through 85 hopefuls, choosing just 17 women, who then went to his mansion to seek out true love.
There’s no word yet on ratings, but I bet you can guess…
