Kelsey Grammer asked wife to attend Tony awards for appearance sake after dumping her?

[HMG] – When his forthcoming divorce from third wife, Camille Donatacci was announced, Kelsey Grammer made it clear on his blog that unfounded stories concerning the split would emerge. And this either seems like a perfect example or perhaps the truth hurts?

The Post is reporting friends of the couple as saying that Kelsey, 55, ‘dumped’ Camille by phone from New York, where he’s appearing on Broadway. He then asked her to fly in for the Tony Awards on June 13 (photo above) so they’d look like a couple — but made her stay at a hotel.

“Kelsey was so cold,” claims one friend. “He told her it was over and he wanted to see other people, but still asked her to be at the Tonys. They acted like a couple in public, but he wouldn’t let her in his apartment, or discuss reconciliation.”

The alleged friends say Kelsey — who’s been married three times — changed his views about marriage after the move to New York.

“He started hanging out late with a new crowd after the show and became more distanced from Camille,” says one acquaintance. “He then called her out of the blue and said he was done with the marriage and wanted to start dating. Camille was shocked he could be so cold – it was totally out of the blue.”

But Kelsey’s rep rejects the Post’s story;

“While some of what you write has an element of truth, none of it is accurate,” says Stan Rosenfield. “Kelsey did not end their marriage by telephone. Camille did stay at a hotel, but he has not started drinking.”

As for the split being ‘out of the blue,’ Kelsey’s own blog post disputes that;

“Camille and I had been discussing the possibility of a separation for some time,” he writes. “She finally decided she should file. I respect her for this decision.”

The former pair have married for 13 years and there are children involved.
