Landon Donovan facing paternity suit?

(HMG) – Welcome to the spotlight Landon Donovan.  Fresh from his heroic starring run during the World Cup, the 28-year-old forward for the U.S. soccer team is now becoming a tabloid star.  After recent rumors that his marriage to ‘Rules of Engagement’ co-star, Bianca Kajlich may have been revived, he is now facing allegations that he fathered a child with an unnamed British mistress while still married to his wife.  The child was reportedly conceived during the 10 weeks in which Donovan played for in the English Premier League last winter.  He and his wife separated last July.  Donovan declined to deny the reports, saying,”I was informed of the possibility during the World Cup, and if I need to take responsibility, then I will provide the appropriate support,” Donovan told SI.com. He added that he would not further comment on the “private matter.”

Meanwhile, his alleged mistress is threatening to reveal intimate details of their affair to the British tabloids, for the right price, presumably. In a separate Sunday report which is not really related but shows the microscope he is now under, Britain’s News of the World said Donovan, who scored three goals for the United States in the World Cup, may be abandoning his home team, L.A. Galaxy, in favor of the English Premier League’s Everton.
