Daniel Radcliffe(HMG) – I don’t think anyone is going to be asking what happened to that Harry Potter childhood star Daniel Radcliffe in the next few years as the series is about to come to an end. Radcliffe is already planning on heading back to Broadway to star in revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” after completing the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final film of the largest grossing franchise in movie history. It has now been announced that Daniel, now 20, has also been lined up to do his first major film role after Harry Potter, as the lead in a Hollywood remake of classic war movie All Quiet On The Western Front. He will play a young German soldier, Paul Baumer, fighting in the trenches in France in the First World War, in an update of the 1930 Oscar-winner. Producer Ian Stokell said: “Daniel brings a vulnerability and innocence to Paul. “We know he can tap into the delicate balance between intensity and believability that is critical for this demanding role. “When we realized how much he loved the script we were really excited,” he added.   The shooting of the movie is expected to begin in 2012.
