New York Giants’ Lawrence Taylor indicted in rape case
[HMG] – In a continuing story we first mentioned last month, New York Giants linebacker, Lawrence Taylor has now been indicted on charges of rape after a brief altercation with a young prostitute.
Taylor, 51, faced a Grand Jury this morning in Rockland County, New York and was indicted for raping the 16-year old girl, plus endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse and other sex-related offenses.
His attorney, Arthur Aidala insists his client is innocent, and vows to defeat all the charges when the case is resumed.
“My client did not have sex with anybody. Period. Lawrence Taylor did not rape anybody,” he assured the reporters.
Taylor was almost dragged from his room at a Montebello Holiday Inn on May 6th after officers of the NYPD rescued the girl from a man they describe as a ‘bad-ass pimp’ — 36-year old Rasheed Davis.
The girl has since told police that Taylor paid the pimp $300 for sex with her, and she was physically threatened by Davis until she complied. Taylor has admitted paying the money but says he had no idea of the girl’s real age. [She has since told Police she assured Lawrence she was actually 19.]
Taylor also insists they never had sex, and that this whole case is a set-up.
“There are things the alleged victim accused me of that never happened,” he’s now told the News.
No doubt under great stress from her pimp, the girl quite predictably doesn’t see it that way;
“If he’s saying we didn’t [engage in sex,] that’s not true,” she has told reporters by email.
Lawrence faces five years in jail and life-time registration as a sex offender if the charges are proven. His trial will begin on July 13th…
