Eddie Cibrian axed by CSI Miami

[HMG] – If yesterday’s news of stars being ousted from CBS’ Criminal Minds put a crimp in your day, you won’t like this at all — CSI Miami freshman [and LeAnn Rimes closest friend,] Eddie Cibrian is being dropped from the show.

The 37-year-old actor joined the cast last year, replacing Adam Rodriguez. But Adam has now signed a new contract to return in the fall, and the suits at CBS have decided to refocus on just the core cast — which means Eddie is toast.

One cause for his leaving was thought to be the recent questionable ethics displayed by his character, ‘Jessie Cardoza.’  But Eddie didn’t see it that way;

“Jesse was always a good cop and still is,” he told reporters in March. “We finally found a little chemistry within the team that will probably stay for a while.”

But those close to the show say the true cause of Eddie’s departure is purely creative; The Producers have decided they’ll get better ratings if they focus on the central, and therefore most popular cast.

It’s not yet clear how Eddie will leave – E says he may be killed off, or just written out. But one way or another he’s gone for sure.
