American Pie star, Chris Klein faces jail time after arrest on DUI charge

[HMG] In a sad, and potentially career denting re-run of news from 2004, American Pie actor, Chris Klein has been arrested in California on suspicion of driving while drunk.

Sources tell TMZ a California Highway Patrol officer stopped Chris at 3.13am this morning on the 101 Freeway near Sherman Oaks, where the police report says he was;

“Observed weaving from the #3 lane into the #2 and #4 lane, westbound at Woodman Ave.”

Chris then failed a field sobriety test, so the 31-year old actor was arrested and transported to the local P.D.

Best known as “Oz” from 1999′s ‘American Pie,’ the Illinois native has featured in several more films, and also has the unwelcome distinction of being the man whom Katie Holmes dumped in 2005 after five years together to marry Tom Cruise.

And this morning’s events are worse than they sound — Chris was arrested in 2004 for the same reasons, and was eventually convicted of DUI. If he’s convicted this time, California law means he must spend at least four days in jail.

Reports say Chris’s blood-alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit of ‘.08′…so this doesn’t look good.
