“Mad Men” star January Jones crashes into parked cars (Update)
(HMG) – It’s being reported that “Mad Men” beauty January Jones allegedly slammed into three parked cars and left the scene, but quickly came to her senses. TMZ reported Jones was driving a Range Rover around 9PM Thursday night when she allegedly lost control, hit the other cars and caused some major damage. Supposedly a witness reported the accident to police and claimed that January fled on foot after saying, “I can’t deal with this commotion.” Jones says the photogs were harassing her so she left her license and walked a half a block to her home and called 911. But January did return to the scene and claimed she fled because paparazzi were trailing her. Her car was impounded and police have launched an investigation but no arrests were made. The paparazzi story might not be far fetched. Jones was hosting Oceana’s World Oceans Day with GQ magazine on Tuesday evening, at the swanky Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. She was wearing this sexy BCBG aquamarine cocktail dress a the event, and the ever pursueing photogs caught her getting out of a taxi at her house, the next day at 10:30 a.m. Must have been some party!
Update: Around 10 minutes after the crash a witness who owns one of the cars that was hit tells TMZ, Food Network star Bobby Flay showed up in a separate car, began talking with Jones and telling her to leave the scene, which she did. Why Flay who admits he did show up is kind of strange. He claims Jones was hanging with him and a group watching a basketball game at a hotel. They exchanged phone numbers because Jones wants to redo her kitchen and Bobby was going to hook her up with his designer. Sure! And for whatever reason Jones called Flay when she crashed and he doesn’t know why but wanted to help. Flay admits he saw Jones have at least one beer at the party but wasn’t tracking her. Meanwhile the witness at the scene tells TMZ she was face-to-face with Jones and smelled alcohol on her breath. The witness says Jones left her driver’s license with another resident and left. She returned 45 minutes later in a different set of clothes, chewing gum. The witness says she asked cops if they were going to administer a field sobriety test, but a cop told her there was no point since she could have had a drink at home and there was no way of proving she was under the influence when she was behind the wheel. Cops confirm there is no way to pin drinking and driving on someone who leaves the scene and comes back. Well then I guess if your drinking and get in a crash just leave the scene and come back and your free to go. What kind of B.S. is this? To me it sounds like the LA cops gave preferential treatment to a celebrity.
