Confirmation that Mariah Carey is pregnant?

[HMG] – When you walk away from the chance to co-star in a film with Janet Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg, something big is in play. And after weeks of speculation we’re now sure what it is – Mariah Carey is officially pregnant.

As we reported last week, Mariah bailed out of Tyler Perry’s new film with no clear reason. Now a close friend has formally told Radar that the singer and her husband, Nick Cannon are upcoming parents.

“They’re both very excited and very happy,” said the source. “Mariah and Nick wanted to keep the pregnancy quiet as long as they could.”

The speculation about possible motherhood started at the Independent Spirit Awards back in March, when Mariah told the crowd:

“Something very special is on the way!”

Last month the pair were seen leaving a Los Angeles clinic — with no explanation or obvious illness. Then last weekend they were spied together in a drop-top Rolls Royce cruising the Malibu coastline — but Mariah never got out of the car.

That made people talk even more.

Some observers even suggested the singer’s recent weight gain was due to her undergoing hormone therapy. And as such treatment is often linked to in-vitro-fertilization, that didn’t help calm things either.

Neither Mariah or Nick has ever confirmed or dispelled all these rumors. Both seemed content to repay their fans for all the fame and the money with a teasing campaign. Now this is over.

It’s believed Mariah is now two months along, which means she should deliver the child sometime after New Year’s.
