Dennis Hopper (May 17, 1936 – May 29, 2010) has died

(HMG) – Sadly Dennis Lee Hopper (May 17, 1936 — May 29, 2010) has succumbed to prostate cancer and has died today at the age of 74. I think most of you know Dennis unfortunately spent many of his last days in a contentious divorce battle with his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy. On a positive note in perhaps his final public appearance, Dennis was able to attend the ceremony unveiling his star on the Hollywood Boulevard, flanked by some of the many screen legends he worked with and his family (photo above). Known for taking edgy parts in films like Easy Rider, Apocalypse, and Blue Velvet in a career spanning more than 50 years, Dennis first came to prominence alongside his mentor James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause and Giant. He is survived by four children, including a six-year-old daughter, Galen, he had with Duffy. Rest in Peace Dennis!
