Ellen DeGeneres is starting own record label with Greyson Chance as first artist
[HMG] – Lady Gaga tribute star, Greyson Chance’s, recent visit (May 13th) on the Ellen DeGeneres show, was a big accomplishment in it’s own right but has apparently paid big dividends. The 12-year old, 6th grader, has now shot to fame, as his You Tube video scored 18-million hits in one week, and the rest is a blur. Word from Reuters News Service is, DeGeneres, who joined “American Idol” in January, is further entrenching herself in the music business (take that Simon Cowell), and will announce on her show today (Wednesday) that she is starting a record label — eleveneleven. And her first artist will be Greyson Chance. DeGeneres said in a statement released on Tuesday:
“Greyson … inspired me to start a record label called eleveneleven. He is my first artist and we are making a record together.”
DeGeneres also said she will continue to use her show as a platform to find new artists, whom she will sign to eleveneleven. The record label is being set up in collaboration with Telepictures Productions. Young Mr. Chance will be well represented as he now has Guy Oseary, Madonna’s manager, and Troy Carter, Lady Gaga’s manager, as his co-managers.
