Jimmy Kimmel unveils other endings to Lost

[HMG] – If you were among the roughly 13-million people driven to discover how ABC’s monster-hit, ‘Lost’ would achieve a conclusion, Jimmy Kimmel says you only saw half the story.

It’s been widely reported that the series’ creators, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse had other endings in mind, which ABC lacked either the nerve or the corporate humor to use. So Jimmy screened them last night on his post-finale special, and they’re quite worth the time.

The fact that Bob Newhart gets involved may give you some idea of just how creative [and clearly fond of nostalgia] the show’s writers can be.

With the faster production times and far lower costs of reality shows, scripted dramas like Lost [whose first season alone cost $2.2-million per show] are an endangered species. Good scripted dramas are even more rare. But the series’ debut back on September 22, 2004 caught 18-million people in its well-crafted web of intrigue, and 121 episodes later it has still not let go.
