‘Julie and Julia’ star, Amy Adams delivers a girl

[HMG] – When you get to co-star with Meryl Streep in one of last year’s most successful food movies, people are going to care about you. So when Amy Adams announced she was pregnant, half the country got stretch marks.

Amy, 35, who teamed with Meryl in ‘Julie and Julia’ has since delivered her bundle — a 7lb daughter whose brief existence she and fiancee Darren Legallo have now decided to blight with the name ‘Aviana Olea Legallo.’

“I really have to meet the person before I’m going to know the name, but I tend to be attracted to more traditional names,” Amy told reporters last year, while still expecting.

Aviana arrived at an LA hospital on Saturday, and mom and daughter are both bouncing with health.

“Mom and baby are home and doing great,” Amy’s rep told People. “Everyone’s healthy and happy.”

And while Aviana’s arrival is a doubtless relief, Amy just couldn’t wait to find out what was coming;

“I thought about waiting and I just don’t think that’s my personality,” she mused.

Amy met Darren — a fellow actor and artist – in an acting class in 2001. They announced their engagement in April of 2008 and had plans for a wedding before Aviana appeared, but work got in the way;

“We actually had a date, then we had to push it back because I got a part,” Amy explained. “Now I have the time off we’ll definitely be planning it.”

But the enforced idleness has helped her and Darren get closer…if that can be done;

“It’s been good for me,” she told the scribes. “I’ve benefited from taking some downtime and working on friendships and really reconnecting with my fiancée.”
