Matt Lauer and Wife Annette Deny Affair Story and Break-up

(HMG) – As we mentioned yesterday ‘Today’ show host Matt Lauer and his wife Annette, have reportedly split amid accusations of infidelity in their 12-year marriage. The news first broken by The National Enquirer claimed that Lauer and his wife have been living apart for more than two months since she accused her husband of cheating on her during his coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in February.

However, Lauer has gone to People Magazine and claims that the report is false.

“I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple,” he told People. “I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.”

Annette also denied the report to People. “Out of self respect, I want to stand up for our family and protect them,” she told the magazine.

Back to the Enquirer story, suspicions allegedly arose when Matt not only stood his wife up on Valentine’s Day, but also chose to remain in Vancouver for an extended period of time after the “Today” show crew wrapped production and returned to New York.

Back in New York, Annette allegedly learned about her husband’s flirting with two beautiful Canadian broadcasters from the wife of another “Today” show staffer. When Matt returned from his trip, he was allegedly confronted by his wife.

Though he denied her accusations, Matt moved out of their home after an explosive two-day fight, according to The Enquirer. Annette is reportedly no longer be wearing her wedding ring.  So are Matt and Annette merely circling the wagons in denying this report or did the Enquirer get it wrong?  Supposedly this is the third incident over the years where Annette has accused Matt of cheating, so there may be a track record.  The couple briefly filed for divorce in 2006, and in going to People Mag. to deny this latest story they did acknowledges past difficulties in the 12-year marriage. But Lauer labels as “ridiculous” and “offensive” reports he had ever cheated on Annette.  I will say though there is another website that we won’t mention by name who claims the Today host had an affair with Alexis Houston, a singer who has reportedly claimed to be Whitney’s half-sister.  We are pretty certain this claim is false.
