Mickey Rourke admits true love is hard work

[HMG] – A lot of Hollywood’s inmates get caught in affairs, but not Mickey Rourke. Not this time. He’s staying true to his lady, but he admits it’s hard work.

The 57-year old native New Yorker has been dating the Russian model and artist  Anastasia Makarenko since last Summer and admits he’s ‘infatuated.’ And despite all temptation, Mickey says he hasn’t strayed once, and he won’t.

“I haven’t slept around on her,” he assures Indy. “I haven’t been that way in 23 years and it’s not easy. I could do something on the side but I’ve got to live with myself. That’s new for me — being honest in a relationship.”

Rumors began around Christmas that Mickey had even proposed to his lady but he denies that, and says such stories embarrass Anastasia because she likes to be private.

“I haven’t asked her to marry me,” he says. “There were stories about being engaged but that’s just embarrassing for Anna – She’s very low-key. People you think are friends can be cruel and I don’t have the best reputation, so it’s easy for them to say stuff.”

But while marriage is not on the menu, Mickey says he’d consider having children. His own childhood was a nightmare of abuse, but he says things have changed since Anna appeared.

“I had a really horrific childhood so I’d never do to a child what happened to me,” he told reporters. “The kid thing has never come into my thoughts because of that fear, but things are different now.”

The critics are loving his screen-chewing appearance in ‘Iron Man 2,’ so with true love and a movie he seems back on track. And no-one deserves that state of life more…
