Heidi Montag hooked on painkillers after undergoing cosmetic surgery even her mother hates?

(HMG) – Season 6 of ‘The Hills’ premiered Tuesday night, with Heidi Montag facing criticism at home when she and her new face and body returned to Colorado.

“It’s very weird and awkward,” began mom Darlene, investigating her daughter’s new face. “You risked your life to do the things that you did. You had an elective surgery that was completely unnecessary. I feel like when you left home, you had more confidence and self-esteem than anyone I had ever met.”

When Heidi pointedly asked her mom if she liked her new look, Darlene couldn’t give her the answer she’d hoped for. “How do I say that I thought you were more beautiful before?” Darlene asked. “But, yes. I thought you were much more beautiful before. I’m hoping some of this will fade and go away.”

This elicited a contorted sob from Heidi, the best she could do with her sore, fragile face.  Jumping forward to the present, sources on the set of The Hills fear that Heidi is developing a dangerous addiction to painkillers, months after her recovery from plastic surgery.

“She’s a shell of her former self,” a Hills insider tells US Weekly.

Following a rash of weirder than usual behavior from Heidi and her scheming husband Spencer Pratt, like changing their names to “White Wolf” and “Running Bear” and blowing thousands of dollars on a collection of crystals — the couple have “crossed over to this bizarre place,” says the source.

“They are addicted to the fame. As The Hills winds down and people start to care less, they are desperate to get back that high.”
