Jim Carrey’s boing leaves Twitter fans wondering

Jim Carrey(HMG) – Since Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy announced they had split, those close to the actor have been concerned he’s okay. Now Jim’s lending proof there is cause for concern.

Since April 6, when he and Jenny announced they had split, Jim’s been strangely silent. But for the last four days the 48-year old comic has something new on his mind — he’s been tweeting the word ‘Boing!’ up to forty times every day.

“I RRRefuse 2 define BOING!” he tweeted on Tuesday. “1 day when you’ve given up your need 2 explain it and file it neatly away, #BOING…you will understand!”

Later he chirped to the word as a whole, “Put some #Boing on that sandwich and let me have a bite!”

And so it went on.

Jim is known to have encountered depression throughout his career and some fans see this monosyllabic obsession as a red flag to suggest it’s returned. And their concern is compounded by the fate of Jim’s current movie

In ‘I Love You, Philip Morris,’ Jim plays ‘Steven Russell’ a happily married police officer whose life is transformed by a car crash. Once recovered he realizes he’s gay, then embarks on a new life as a con-man that lands him in jail where he meets Mr. Morris, played by Ewan McGregor. Soon, Steven’s besotted and does all he can to be with his muse.

The film was supposed to have been released this Friday, but was pulled from the schedules earlier this month; Apparently forever. Now it’s back, and due to open on July 30th. Pop Eater says the studio got scared by the content, then changed their minds.

Jim also appeared on ‘American Idol Gives Back’ and had a cameo on Conan O’Brien’s comedy show during a date in L.A., where he sang a duet with Coco while dressed as the caped crusader.

So what do we make of this ‘Boing’? I say it’s a stunt. Jim’s used it so much it’s now trending on Twitter. And that fact, plus the press his new fad has created will not exactly hurt sales for the movie.

He gets $20-million of free press for one word…and people say he’s lost his mind. I’d disagree…
