Outlaw Couple Randy and Evi Quaid Apprehended And Released Again
(HMG) – Once known as a colorful character actor Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have teamed to become outlaw con artists (allegedly), who have made fools of the legal system of late. The couple have repeatedly failed to show up for hearings in a felony case ongoing since September, alleging they defrauded an inn out of more than $10,000. They also have been charged with burglary and conspiracy and have pleaded not guilty. But it’s the legal system that never seems to learn.  A judge ordered the couple’s $40,000 bail forfeited after they missed a hearing on April 12. Arrest warrants were issued after the Quaids failed to show up the following day as well.
So after showing up to court two weeks late for the criminal case, Randy and Evi Quaid were briefly jailed Monday. But incredibly the actor and his wife were once again released after posting $100,000 bail each and were told to return for a court hearing on Wednesday, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. As I have said before, the Quaid’s antics reminds me of a court case some years back where a forger was found guilty but was only fined, so he proceeded to hand the clerk a check to gain his freedom, which of course later bounced. Haven’t the Quaid’s by now proven they are gonna run if they get a chance?
