Larry King knew of affairs, says ex-wife #6

[HMG] – With Larry King’s seventh marriage seemingly bound for divorce, wife number six says the CNN host and his soon-to-be- ex both had affairs, and both knew the other was straying.

In one of numerous interviews given since her ex-husband’s latest marriage went sour, Julia Alexander tells Radar both Larry and his current wife, Shawn both cheated. And each knew the other was guilty.

“Larry told me they both knew each had other people in their lives,” says Alexander. “I never asked him and he never said who his ‘other’ was, but he knew Shawn was having an affair with their baseball coach. She practically flaunted it!”

That coach is Hector Penate. He was hired by Larry to teach Larry’s children the game two years ago, and has since confirmed the affair.

“Larry is heartbroken about breaking up the family,” Alexander then adds. “He lives for those kids. That’s why he didn’t leave when he learned of her affair – He wanted to keep the family together.”

Julia met the now 76-year old host in August of 1989 and he proposed on their very first date. They married on October 7, separated in 1990 and divorced in 1992.

“Larry’s appeal is his intelligence and humor.” says Julia. “He has a wonderful sense of humor. Larry doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He is a wonderful man in every area except marriage. He doesn’t have a moral compass about women.”

Alexander says Larry biggest roadblock in life is a deep-set insecurity.

“His father died when he was about nine and he was largely raised by an aunt. He needs the security of knowing someone is there for him. The problem is, he can’t help keep himself from cheating.”

And from conversations she’s had with Larry since the Shawn situation blew up, Julia fears his marriage is doomed.

“I know a lot of people tried to talk him out of it. Everyone was concerned Shawn was in it for the money and celebrity, but he was in love. That’s over now. They’ll divorce, and Larry will marry again. Larry is addicted to marriage.”
