‘Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains’: JT Gets Sent Home After Merge, But How?

SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS(HMG) – I have to admit last night’s episode really surprised me.  For some reason I was and have been cheering for the heroes to gain control, though I have to admit the villains are much more interesting and playing the game with more gusto.  In the beginning everything happened as I expected.  The teams merged, Russell was given the immunity idol, Parvati was targeted by the heroes initially, stir and watch.  I waited in anticipation for Sandra to make her move and she did taking Rupert aside and telling him what Russell was up to.  Yep perfect, JT wasn’t buying Sandra’s story but thankfully the other heroes cooked up a great plan to test Russell by covertly telling him to vote for Parvati, while they all voted for Jerri.  The stage was set but then you had Amanda sneaking off to reconnect with Parv.  It was weird because neither really trusted each other and Amanda is horrible at trying to lie, so Parv sensed she wasn’t likely the heroe’s target.  Even so, how could she be so sure (did I miss something)?  At tribal counsel when she played the first immunity idol to protect Sandra I was surprised by her unselfishness, but giddy just like the heroes to see she guessed wrong.  It never occurred to me she would use the second idol and then save Jerri.  Wow! Great play! JT ended up deservedly going home, after all hatched the boneheaded idea to give Russell  that second idol and that ended up being his demise. But not all is lost for the heroes.  The previews for next week show Russell is on the brink of losing his female alliance, while Sandra builds a new one presumably with the remaining heroes to get rid of him.  Seems like it should be a slam dunk for Sandra to pull this off as she should now be trusted by the heroes to go along with her and they need her, but the previews usually are deceptive in some way, so we’ll have to wait and see what really happens.
