Nadya Suleman Has Some Fun With Her Kids

(HMG) – Oprah Winfrey’s  interview  with ‘Octomom’ Nadya Suleman aired yesterday.  Suleman said she never wanted more than six or seven children, “not double that”.  And she now realizes that her reasons for implanting all of the embryos into her uterus were highly selfish and childish, stemming from a desire for a large family, a fear of a connection with someone who wasn’t her child, and other factors.

“You can’t regret children, but my choices were childish, immature and selfish. I wasn’t thinking at that time,” she said during the show, which Oprah confirms she was not paid for.

Suleman spoke about the struggles of every day life with eight babies and three older children.

“[I live] every single day, every hour of the day, with a tremendous amount of guilt. I feel guilty when I look at the older ones, they all have different unique needs. I feel guilty when I’m holding one or two and I can’t be there for the others when they’re crying.”

She has also denied that she did it for the fame, and says that any media circuit she has gone through has been for a good reason.

“I did it because there were 14 hungry mouths. I own full responsibility for providing for my children. We have some of that money left until I figure out another way to make ends meet,” she said, speaking about a $100,000 photoshoot she did of her post-baby body with Star magazine.

“I was ashamed of that — that’s not my character — but I felt as though I needed to do something.”

Nadya also weighed in on her nickname “Octomom” after giving birth to octuplets last year,  saying the moniker makes her feel like a “carnival attraction”and that she’d never allow her family to be the subject of a reality television show.

But above it all, she contests the idea that she did it on purpose for money or the spotlight.

“I’m not a celebrity. I’m a pseudo-celebrity catapulted into this media mess. Was I in denial thinking it wouldn’t happen? Yeah. Did I want it? No.”
