tori_spelling(HMG) – ABC is in the early stages of developing a daytime talk show for former Beverly Hills 90210 star Tori Spelling.  The show which is still on the drawing board, will feature Spelling and a male co-host.  The Los Angeles Times reports that ABC wants a “Will & Grace vibe” for the show, and is searching for the perfect male counterpart to work with Spelling.  ABC already has a lot of daytime programming with three soap operas and The View.  But late afternoon will soon have an opening with the coming departure of the Oprah Winfrey show.  But ABC would have to convince it’s affiliates to pick up the new talk show. Spelling, the daughter of late legendary television producer Aaron Spelling, and her husband, Dean McDermott, are the subject of a reality show for Oxygen, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, and the show’s fifth season is among the network’s highest rated programs.
