Crystal Bowersox Thinks Ryan Seacrest is a Blabbermouth
[HMG] – Radio show and American Idol host Ryan Seacrest recently told the story of how he saved front-runner Crystal Bowersox from blowing her chance at the prize. It seems Crystal was close to quitting about two weeks ago, and was in the process of leaving when Ryan stepped in and made the wannabe star change her mind. Crystal told Ryan she couldn’t handle the pressure, hated all the attention and missed her young son. For his part, the smooth-talking host then explained that being on ‘Idol’ was like starting a business, and that if she was successful she get a recording contract and wind up really rich. “The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money to buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house,” he told the sad-faced chanteuse.
Sounds great and most fans are grateful she is still going strong on American Idol, but Crystal never expected Seacrest would tell the world about it. The dread-locked singer reacted yesterday for the first time to the story, not denying she had “a moment” of weakness, but felt betrayed as she tweeted on her official “Idol” Twitter page yesterday:
“No apologies for being human,” the 24-year-old singer said. “Life is always testing one’s strength and weakness threshold. That’s how we learn how strong we really are.”
Since “Idol” contestants are not allowed to talk to the media until after they’ve been voted off the show, Katelyn Epperly — a close friend of Bowersox from the Top 24 “Idol” tryouts spilled the beans in an interview with a Des Moines radio station saying:
“Crystal texted me saying : ‘I’m fine . . . betrayed by Seacrest!’ ” Epperly said.
“She had a moment backstage and they made it into something it wasn’t,” said the friend. “She’s still in the game.”
OMG! Now neither Ryan or Crystal can defend themselves since Crystal can’t speak to the press till she is done with AI. Katelyn is incorrect here too. Whether Ryan leaked it or not is yet to be determined. But Katelyn opened her ‘blabbermouth’ to share a private text with the media. That was wrong on her part! “And so the press becomes your constituents and you sell out the team.†Katelyn Epperly just did that!
That is so true I would have never said what Crystal texted me. I think Katelyn was wrong. Poor Crystal she probably feels she can’t lean on anyone there. Irionically, I think Simon would have been her best choice, I think he respects privacy.
