Chris Hemsworth hammered by Anthony Hopkins on ‘Thor’

Anthony Hopkins[HMG] – The jaw-dropping box-office bounty raked in by Spider Man, Superman, X Men and others has made Hollywood a huge fan of comics. But their newest attempt to fill some more bank vaults, the Anthony Hopkins film, ‘Thor’ has now hit a snag;

An un-named source who works on the set of the film in Del Mar, California, says the 72-year old actor is being ‘a divo’ and can’t resist trying to direct Chris Hemsworth, who plays the title role.

“Anthony has not tried to hide his disapproval of Chris’s acting skills,” says the snitch. “Chris is definitely the least-experienced actor on set, but he’s trying. He respects Anthony a great deal, and he’s really trying to grin and bear all the criticism.”

But the alleged criticism does not stop at Chris — Anthony’s even trying to direct the director — Kenneth Branagh.

“Anthony keeps complaining they’re shooting too many scenes in the studio and not enough on location,” the source tells the News.

The film is also so hugely dependent on special effects, most scenes are shot on a completely bare set, with just a ‘green screen’ as decoration;

“He isn’t used to this kind of work, and his pessimism is starting to wear everyone down.” so we’re told.

And the movie’s not due out until May 6 of next year, so this not hype to sell tickets, it might really be true.

Anthony’s reps have denied there’s any tension, but things are looking worse — The cast and crew recently went to New Mexico for some location filming. It was booked as four weeks, but technical problems turned that into six. And they’re still counting.

“Everyone is cranky and frustrated that it’s taking so long,” our spy tells reporters. “But it’s a very high-tech movie, and it just takes time to get things right.”

‘Silence of the Lambs’ runs for two-hours. Anthony is on screen for just 16-minutes, yet he delivers a performance of such blood-chilling impact it won him the Oscar. Put that depth of talent in a comic-book film and this is the certain result…
