Yale University Accepts James Franco for PhD Program
[HMG] – All but the greatest actors have some free time, but James Franco puts his to good use — the Spider Man co-star has just enrolled at Yale to study for his third straight degree.
The 31-year old actor has been accepted to Yale, to study for a PhD in English. If achieved this will look really nice on the mantle, right next to his ‘Masters in Fine Arts’ from Columbia University, his undergraduate degree in creative writing from UCLA, and his forthcoming graduate film degree from NYU.
Sources tell the Huff Post that James will begin classes in September, though locals and students may see the man chosen by Salon in 2009 as ‘The Sexiest Man Living’ on campus before then as he’s expected to attend some student events.
His last appearance at the ‘Berkeley College Master’s Tea,’ caused a near riot among teenage girls and local soap-opera fans [In October '09 he played 'Franco' in 23 episodes of ABC's 'General Hospital'] But Jim seems unfazed.
And this is not just PR — the man is a serious student: While at UCLA he was concerned the other students might think he was just killing time, so he took extra courses to prove he really was there to learn. UCLA’s limit is 19 units per quarter. James took 62.
This stands as an all-time record for one single student…
