orson-welles(HMG) – Reaching out from beyond the grave, Orson Wells is set to narrate a new film. According to THR, Drac Studios, best known as a special effects and makeup shop for movies, is in development on “Christmas Tails,” a 3D live-action/CG hybrid movie to be directed by Todd Tucker and narrated by the legendary filmmaker, who died in 1985.  The movie will be based on rare recordings of Welles narrating Christmas Tails, a self-published novel by Robert X. Leed, will be used.  Welles, died a few months later, recorded the book in 1985 as a favor to Leed, who was a personal friend.   The tapes were gathering dust until being recently discovered. The story itself is about what happens when Santa’s reindeer get sick and his dog comes to the rescue gathering other canines to save Christmas.  Christmas Tails is scheduled to be shot in the fall with an eye on a Christmas 2011 release.
