Justin Bieber[HMG] – When a star has something to sell they often resort to dumb statements to get more attention. But Justin Bieber’s recent critique of Mariah Carey is dense beyond words.

With a YouTube fifteen-minutes that’s somehow lasted five months, the 16-year old seems to feel he’s now an expert in music and says he wouldn’t want to work with Mariah as she’s not in his league;

“I don’t love her new music, it’s not the same,” he mewled at AHN. “It’s like Michael Jordan coming back to play in the NBA — She’s past her best.”

Justin capped his five-months of fame by releasing his first album this week ['My World 1' was just an EP,] and has had one Top-5 single so far. ‘My World 2.0′ has sold 1.5-million copies, and sales are now slowing.

Mariah’s 20-year career has seen eighteen #1 single’s on Billboard to date; Eight of which happened before Justin was born. She’s won 204 separate awards, sold-out eight worldwide tours, and her debut album went double-platinum on five different continents in less than ten weeks.

Eleven others have followed, selling a grand total of 112-million worldwide.

And they’re still counting.

But while the two are clearly a mismatch – in both talent and brains – they do have some links – Music producers, ‘The Dream’ and Tricky Stewart, who crafted Mariah’s 2009 “Memoirs” album were also at the helm for Justin’s last single “Baby.”

The only thing he can point to that resembles a hit…
