Shia LaBeouf, Audrina Patridge, Sean Astin and Gordon Ramsay Run L.A. Marathon
(HMG) – Young actor Shia LaBeouf, 23, was among a group of celebrities that completed the grueling 26.2 mile Los Angeles Marathon race on March 21. Joining Shia and 25,00 other participants in the race were Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin, Hell’s Kitchen overlord Gordon Ramsay, The Bachelor‘s Andy Baldwin and Hills star Audrina Patridge.
Baldwin, an Ironman triathlete and an officer in the United States Navy, finished first among the celebs at 3 hours and 24 minutes. Ramsay clocked in an impressive 3:36; LaBeouf, crossed the finish line in 4:35; and Astin made it at 5:16. Patridge, running for a children’s charity, tweeted after she finished and later announced that she “inhaled a philly cheesesteak” postrace, but her time was not immediately available.
The ‘Transformers’ actor, ran the race to raise money for America’s largest non-profit organization US VETS. The charity – which provides services to war veterans of all ages returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, is close to the star’s heart as his father Jeffrey fought in Vietnam and his paternal grandfather was a Green Beret.
“We are delighted and grateful to have Mr. LaBeouf participate in the marathon on our behalf,” said U.S.VETS President and CEO Dwight Radcliff. “Shia’s father is a Vietnam veteran and running the marathon is a significant way to honor his father’s service and the military service of others.”
